Starr Family Program

We have personally seen the devastation that cancer brings to families. The financial burden of treatment should not be a part of this nightmare. Implemented in 2006, the Starr Family Program provides financial support to children and families undergoing treatment at The Children's Cancer Hospital at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in the form of parking vouchers and gas gift cards. While these small tokens do not alleviate the entire cost of  treatment, we know that every little bit helps.

We expanded this program in 2010 to include events and gifts such as pizza parties and donations of books and toys. In January of 2011, JZCBCF's board of directors approved a new addition to the Starr Program that would provide individual financial grants to families to reimburse the costs of travel, lodging, treatment and more.
